Insight into tumor evolution through combined measurements in individual cells
Researchers from the group of Alexander van Oudenaarden – group leader at the Hubrecht Institute and Oncode Investigator – used an advanced combination of measurements in individual cells to track the evolution of colorectal tumors. Studium Generale – Maarten Hajer (Utrecht University): A fresh look at sustainability
We’re stuck in a rut. Temperatures on Earth are rising, the soil is becoming depleted and we’re still going full steam ahead with burning fossil fuels. If we stick with the same old ways of thinking that have helped us so little up to this point, we’ll get nowhere, argues spatial planner and political scientist Prof. Maarten Hajer (Utrecht University). What is required for a truly green future?

The main reason for this is a lack of collaboration between the developer and the end users, which means the technology isn’t aligned with what end users (healthcare staff) want and need. Project COUNT looked at how innovations could be successfully introduced in a hospital nursing context.

UMC Utrecht: Determine cystic fibrosis prognosis with organoids
Cystic fibrosis or cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that has very many variations and degrees, making it difficult to characterize. However, with organoids, a kind of mini-organs derived from the patient, it is now possible to determine well in the laboratory what the severity of the disease will be - even better than with the standard clinical sweat test.

Utrecht marathon wishes to make a new start with 39th edition
The Utrecht Marathon powered by Utrecht Science Park wishes to make a fresh start in the coming autumn, or otherwise in the spring of 2023, and further expand on this excellent sporting event.
