Controlling oscillatory microfluidic flows with laser-induced bubbles |
Controlling oscillatory flows in microfluidic channels is important for different applications, ranging from microparticle manipulation and emulsification to cell lysis, needleless injection and gas embolotherapy. A team of Pro2Tech PI’s and their PhD students Nagaraj Nagalingam and Vikram Korede have figured out how oscillatory flows can reliably and predictably be generated through a laser-induced cavitation bubble, allowing for a rational design of microsystems with pulsatile flows. For more information, read their recent publication in Scientific Reports. |
