Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for BOLD Cities welcomes new executive board members

Prof. dr. Catholijn Jonker (Delft University of Technology and Leiden University), Prof. dr. ing. Bram Klievink (Leiden University) and Prof. dr. Claartje ter Hoeven (Erasmus University Rotterdam) have recently joined the executive board of the Centre for BOLD Cities. We are excited to welcome the new members to join our executive board with their expertise!

New grant for research on how data can contribute to building a sustainable and inclusive smart city
Dr. Emiel Rijshouwer and dr. Els Leclercq, researchers at the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for BOLD cities, received an NWA projects fund for a research project in a consortium of the Centre for BOLD Cities, Waag and Utrecht University. The project will focus on how citizens can manage and use data to generate value and to address urban challenges.

New grant for Big Data research on re-integration
The research project Re-integratie in BOLD Cities received a grant from ZonMw, on behalf of the Ministry of SZW, to continue their research. In this research the question is if and how municipal and national data can be linked and analysed in order to design bespoke strategies for reintegration into paid labour. In this project prof. dr. Marike Knoef (Leiden University), dr. Merel Schuring (Erasmus MC), Prof. dr. Lex Burdorf (Erasmus MC) and prof. dr. Liesbet van Zoonen (Erasmus University Rotterdam) collaborate with the municipalities of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Den Haag and Utrecht.

First edition minor SMART and SHARED Cities succesful

The first edition of the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for BOLD Cities minor SMART and SHARED Cities was concluded successfully. Students have handed in their evaluation on the programme and its organisation. The minor scores high with an average rate of 8.3 out of 10, with 10 being the most positive result. All students successfully completed the programme with a research project commissioned by internal and external stakeholders.
