It’s the last week of the local harvest and Sussex vineyards are waist deep in ripe grapes. After a fairly dismal summer, the early autumn sunshine produced a bumper harvest and yields are likely to be the best yet. Grateful wine makers and willing volunteers joined forces to bring in the crop and now the alchemy can begin.

In the meantime, there are plenty of fabulous Brighton restaurants, like Dilsk, Fourth and Church and Furna, who champion Sussex on their wine lists. A bit of bad news first… This year ‘no shows’ have doubled costing the UK hospitality industry a ridiculous £17bn in lost revenue alone. We’ve heard from local restaurants that this is becoming a real problem. So if your plans change, just ring and rebook. It will be hugely appreciated.
Now some wonderful news… It's heartwarming to find our community spirit so strong. The Salt Room raised £21,100 for Martlets with their fundraising dinner and auction. Also, more local venues have signed up to support the LOVE FOOD SHARE FOOD campaign. Look out for the logo for your chance to give.
