Dear partner,
Due to ongoing snowfall and winter weather conditions in the Netherlands and North-West Europe, our operations are currently being impacted at some locations. Roads are often difficult to access, and disruptions in public transport mean that not all colleagues are able to reach our depots and hubs on time.
We are doing everything we can to sort and deliver parcels and pallets as efficiently as possible. However, we cannot fully prevent delays in certain regions. Below you will find an overview of the current impact. This message serves as an update to the mailing we sent on Wednesday, reflecting the latest status:
The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg: regional delays of 1–2 days.
In the provinces of Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and Overijssel, conditions are more challenging due to today’s snowfall than in the rest of the Netherlands. Please allow for delays of up to 2 days for both pallets and parcels in these areas, including outbound shipments.
In the rest of the Netherlands, as well as in Belgium and Luxembourg, there are local delays of 1 day due to backlogs caused by earlier snowfall this week, particularly affecting pallet shipments.
France: delays of 1 day in delivery due to backlogs resulting from earlier snowfall.
United Kingdom: delays of up to 2 days due to today’s snowfall and storm conditions, as well as several incidents at seaports, causing congestion elsewhere.
Germany: regional delays of up to 1 day.
Ireland: delays of 2–3 days due to earlier driving bans in France and the storm affecting the UK and Ireland, which has resulted in several ferry crossings being cancelled today.
For the most up-to-date overview, we kindly refer you to the GLS alerts on our website.
Should winter weather conditions persist or change, we will of course continue to actively communicate any impact on our services.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
GLS Netherlands
