Initiative for LCRDM task group Linked Open Data for Research |
Would anyone like to participate in a Linked Open Data for Research task group? We will organise an initial meeting in October/November to discuss everyone's goals. In many areas, the LCRDM task groups have already demonstrated their success by delivering results and facilitating knowledge sharing. Given the complexity surrounding interoperability and reusability it seems to be time to address these topics. Interoperability and reusability are directly related to Linked Open Data and have many of the same preconditions. The taskgroup will be working at making Linked Open Data more accessible to various research disciplines. |

Sensitive Data Collected by students - Tycho Hofstra |
“How does it actually work for students who collect sensitive data?” This question was casually posed to me by a colleague outside the supermarket on the VU campus. Not a strange question, of course. Storage solutions such as Research Drive and Yoda provide researchers with the assurance that privacy and security are maintained.

Why 23 Things for RDM? |
The growing volume of data in scientific research has greatly increased the importance of Research Data Management (RDM) in recent years. Support staff involved in research—such as data stewards, IT support personnel, librarians and policy officers—often have varying levels of perspective onto managing research data. Nevertheless, they must work closely together to provide support to researchers aiming to practice responsible data management.
