Growing interest in upscaling cleaner production processes for cleaner factories |
After TU Delft and TNO stated in a press release in April that it is high time for cleaner chemical production processes to be scaled up, various media have joined in. Electrification via two electrochemical routes: read two recent articles on the subject. (Only in Dutch) |

Vidi for Willem Haverkort 'Hydrogen Bubbles Quantified' |
Green hydrogen can be produced through electrolysis of water. The efficiency of this process can be improved by better understanding and influencing the behaviour of bubbles generated at the electrodes. A unique new physical model describing the complex interaction between electrodes, bubbles, and flows will provide the necessary insight. |

CO2 Electrolysis via Surface-Engineering Electrografted Pyridines on Silver Catalysts |
Both bulk transition-metal catalysts and molecular catalysts affixed to conductive noncatalytic solid supports represent a promising approach toward the electroreduction of CO2. Here, we report a combined silver (Ag) and pyridine catalyst through a one-pot and irreversible electrografting process, which demonstrates the enhanced CO2 conversion versus individual counterparts. |
